Visit of Assistant Professor Dr. Burcu Duman to IUS as Part of the Erasmus+ Program

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, as part of the Erasmus+ program, Assistant Professor Dr. Burcu Duman from Bartın University paid an academic visit to the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). Her visit included engagements with the English Language and Literature (ELIT) and English Language and Literature Teaching (ELT) study programs, offered respectively by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and the Faculty of Education (FEDU).

Dr. Duman, a distinguished scholar in the field of Teacher Education and Teaching Methods, currently serves as a faculty member at Bartın University's Faculty of Education. She has an extensive portfolio of academic publications and research contributions that have significantly advanced understanding in her field.

As part of her visit, Dr. Duman delivered an insightful and interactive lecture to students enrolled in the course Early Foreign Language Teaching, taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Almasa Mulalić. Her presentation, titled “Teaching Methods: Theory into Practice”, focused on various contemporary teaching approaches and included hands-on examples that illustrated their practical application in real-life classroom settings.

The session stimulated dynamic discussions and encouraged students to critically analyze the implementation of teaching methods in diverse educational contexts. Students actively engaged with real-world case studies and explored the challenges and opportunities associated with modern pedagogical practices. Emphasis was placed on the link between effective teaching methods, learner motivation, and successful educational outcomes.

Dr. Duman’s visit provided students with a valuable international perspective and enriched their understanding of the evolving landscape of language education.
