The Art of Storytelling: Emir Isović Shares Creative Insights with IUS ELIT Students
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, students of the ELIT321 Graphic Novel course, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nadira Puškar Mustafić, had the pleasure of attending an inspiring lecture by renowned Bosnian graphic novelist Emir Isović.
Throughout the session, Mr. Isović shared his creative journey as an artist and storyteller, illustrating how even the simplest visual elements can bring to life the most powerful narratives. He guided students through each stage of his creative process - from the first sketch to the final panel - revealing how art, narrative, and cultural context merge to form the distinctive language of the graphic novel.
Students also enjoyed an exclusive preview of his current works in progress, gaining valuable insights into the world of visual storytelling and the creative challenges behind each project. Mr. Isović’s passion, authenticity, and artistic vision left a lasting impression on students, motivating them to explore their own creativity and experiment with the art of storytelling through illustration.
The International University of Sarajevo extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Emir Isović for his time and inspiration, and to Asst. Prof. Dr. Nadira Puškar Mustafić for organizing such an enriching and engaging learning experience.
