IUS ELIT Scholars Present Research at International Conference in Montenegro
On September 18 and 19, 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nadira Puškar Mustafić and Anisa Eminović-Ljevo, MA, from the English Language and Literature (ELIT) study program at the IUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) participated in the 7th International Conference of the Faculty of Philology, organized by the University of Montenegro in Bar, Montenegro.
Held under the theme “Linguistic, Translation, and Literary Horizons in the 21st Century,” the conference brought together international scholars working across linguistics, translation, literary studies, cultural studies, and language teaching.
The IUS ELIT representatives presented two jointly authored papers. “Subversive American Drama and the American Dream: A Streetcar Named Desire and August: Osage County” examined how Tennessee Williams and Tracy Letts challenge the promise of fulfilment and upward mobility associated with the American Dream. “Nowhere and Everywhere: Navigating Dual Identity in Aleksandar Hemon’s Diaspora Narrative Nowhere Man and the Mirrored Bosnian Diaspora Experience” explored displacement, alienation, and dual identity by placing Hemon’s novel in dialogue with the experiences of the Bosnian diaspora.
In addition to presenting her research, Anisa Eminović-Ljevo chaired a session in Literature and Cultural Studies. Their participation enabled an exchange of ideas with scholars from different countries, strengthened professional networks, and opened possibilities for future academic cooperation.
Their engagement at ICFP7 reflects the ELIT Program’s continued commitment to research, international scholarly exchange, and the active contribution of IUS to contemporary discussions in literature and cultural studies.
